Northern Bowl 2025

This gathering is a small and intimate affair based just outside of the city of Durham on an organic smallholding.

Tickets are limited to sixty which gives a lively feeling to a friendly teaching space.

It all starts with a comprehensive set of courses run by some of the best tutors in the turning and carving world.

The weekend then changes to a more skills sharing focus with some informal sessions being run alongside shorter paid workshops.

Nights are spent around a fire, sharing music, laughter, chat and song.

Keeping the skills alive and kicking is at the heart of it all.

Devoted to the sharing, teaching and crafting of wooden treen.

This bursary is awarded each year to those just starting out on their craft journey or to those on a limited income.

One way to get in to the gathering is to offer your help to set it up. In return you will get in for free and be fed.

For the price of your ticket you get to camp on site, you get fed your main meals, can access all of the courses.

As well as this you get space under canvas and all of the craft wood you may need along with a roaring fire and plenty of tea and biscuits
