Besom broom workshop with Gordon Gillespie - Friday 25th April - 1pm til 4pm
From deep in the coppice comes the ancient skill of besom broom making. Historically these were produced in their thousands and sold to households, stable yards and industrial mills. Using this year's birch tops we will select and prepare our material and create a sturdy, durable besom broom for the sweeping of wood shavings or attempted magical flight. All materials will be provided straight from Cumbrian Coppice woodland.
