Finding fibres with Anna Corbett - (Sat 26th April 10am - 1pm) (Sun 27th April 10am - 1pm)
Finding Fibres
Learn how to make cordage, one of the oldest of human technologies. We will use local plants and you will have a chance to try out a few different ones, and make some samples to take away. We will also explore what makes plants suitable for string and cordage; when and how to harvest and process them.
Throughout history and in all cultures people have used plant fibres for structures, containers, clothing, textiles, as ritual objects and for decoration.
There are many different styles and forms, as well as similarities and shared techniques. These workshops offer an opportunity to explore some of them and become more familiar with the nature of the plants that surround us.
You will need either a WEEKEND TICKET or a DAY TICKET to access this course at the Northern bowl gathering.
