Learn the amazing versatility of bark and learn to process, weave and create art a protective sheath for your knife or bowl hooks out of a variety of different native barks.

We will look at the different uses and processing of various native barks and plant fibres and I will talk about how to harvest and process a good selection of them.

We will then learn how to coppice the willow bark, peel and process into strips to weave a protective sheath.

There will be time to make at least two sheathes for either your carving knife or bowl hooks.

These are transferable skills that you can go onto make baskets, pots and other useful items!

You will need either a WEEKEND or a DAY ticket in order to attend this course.
